My Three Day Stay at the Chesterfield Hotel In West Palm Beach

Sometimes the best of things is in our own back yard. In my case the best of West Palm Beach.

I planned a three day stay-cation at the Chesterfield Hotel in West Palm Beach, Florida. It’s a boutique hotel with charm and a quality all its own. I wanted my stay-cation to be relaxing and luxurious. I also wanted a suite. A one room bed and bath would not do.

I went on the Chesterfield Hotel website two months prior to my trip to see what they had to offer. I selected the The Flagler Suite and was completely wooed by its old world charm. Soon after I booked my stay for September, an off season to take advantage of the discount.

I live in Fort Lauderdale and from the outset I didn’t want to drive. I arranged for a driver. The vehicle i selected was a ‘Executive Sedan.’ The drive to West Palm Beach was enjoyable as I sipped champagne. It was about an hour drive from Fort Lauderdale. My check in time was 3:00 pm and upon my arrival I was greeted with a warm welcome.

The Flagler Suite

The Flager Suite has a spacious living area, bedroom suite and a additional bathroom. After I settled in, I opened another bottle of champagne and reveled in my luxurious surroundings.

The Chesterfield Hotel has a restaurant, Leopard Lounge. I perused the menu in my suite to see what might strike my fancy for dinner, but before dinner I soaked in a hot bubble bath while listening to Chopin.

I Headed downstairs to have a cocktail at the bar before dinner and soon after I was taken to my table. I selected the rack of lamb with mash potatoes and a side of rice pilaf. This was no time to think about calories.

For dessert I ordered the chocolate lava cake and chocolate brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a cup of coffee. There was a pianist who provided tasteful background music in the restaurant.

Afternoon High Tea

During my stay at The Chesterfield Field Hotel I enjoyed Afternoon High Tea.

I gorged on scrumptious fare which included smoked salmon finger sandwiches, dainty desserts and a pot of Earl’s Grey Tea.

I ordered room service and enjoyed my afternoon tea in the privacy of my suite.

The Flagler Museum

While in West Palm Beach I visited the Flagler Museum. It was once the home of industrialist Henry Flagler. It was a snap shot in time of the gilded age of opulence and wealth.

The entire tour included everything from the ballroom where the Flaglers entertained, priceless paintings of the family, antiques of the time to the servant’s quarters.

I encourage you to put the Flagler Museum on your list to visit. If you’re ever in West Palm Beach.
